The Division:
Cultura Technologies, a subsidiary of Constellation Software Inc., provides comprehensive, proven software solutions for agribusinesses to simplify data management, streamline processes, and improve business analysis and decision-making.
The Position:
We are seeking experienced and highly skilled Senior Visual Basic (VB) Developer to join our dynamic development team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in VB programming, a passion for solving complex problems, and a track record of delivering high-quality software solutions. This role involves working on various projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring that applications are robust, efficient, and scalable.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design, develop, and maintain applications using Visual Basic (VB) in both desktop and web-based environments.
2. Write clean, scalable, and efficient code, adhering to best practices.
3. Analyze and troubleshoot complex issues in existing applications, providing quick and effective solutions.
4. Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and develop technical solutions.
5. Conduct code reviews and ensure high-quality standards in the development process.
6. Lead and mentor junior developers, providing guidance on coding practices and career development.
7. Integrate third-party APIs, databases, and other external systems into the applications.
8. Optimize application performance and ensure the smooth operation of the system.
9. Stay updated with industry trends and new technologies, and apply them to improve software development processes.
10. Participate in the planning and design of new features, ensuring alignment with business goals.

Requirements:

1. Proven experience as a Senior VB Developer or similar role with at least 6+ years of experience in Visual Basic programming.
2. Strong knowledge of VB.NET, Visual Basic 6, and other related technologies.
3. Proficiency in working with databases (SQL Server, MySQL, or Oracle) and writing complex queries.
4. Experience with object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and design patterns.
5. Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN).
6. Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address and resolve performance issues.
7. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
8. Experience with Agile methodologies is a plus.
9. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

Preferred Skills:

1. Experience with web technologies such as ASP.NET, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AJAX.
2. Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
3. Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
4. Exposure to modern software development frameworks and tools.
