About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Conveyancing Paralegal to join our busy and dynamic team. The successful candidate will take lead in the management of residential conveyancing transactions based on shared ownership model which complies with Islamic Shariah principles. This role is ideal for someone with extensive UK residential conveyance experience who possesses excellent organizational skills, a client-focused approach, significant experience in UK residential property law and is familiar with technical tools which assist conveyance process.

Job Description:

1. Transaction Management:
   
   • Manage a case load and undertake work associated with all aspects of residential conveyancing transactions.
   
   • Draft and review property sale and purchase contracts, leases, and other legal documents associated with conveyance transactions.
   
   • Maintain records and prepare reports on progress and completion of matters for the legal team and the senior management.
2. Client Liaison:
   
   • Communicate effectively with clients, their legal representatives, ensuring their needs are met promptly and effectively throughout the transaction.
   
   • Act as a point of contact for clients, sellers, and other stakeholders.
3. Compliance and Documentation:
   
   • Conduct title investigations, undertake relevant searches including local authority searches.
   
   • Prepare, review and comment on title reports.
   
   • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including anti-money laundering and GDPR.
   
   • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records using case management software.
4. Specialist Expertise:
   
   • Experience of conventional mortgage conveyancing transactions.
   
   • Experience of transactions involving shared ownership schemes and understanding complex leasehold arrangements.
   
   • Experience of transactions under Islamic finance principles including Home Purchase Plans (Islamic mortgages).
5. Team Support:
   
   • Provide general support to the legal team, including research and preparation of documentation.
   
   • Assist in training junior staff and sharing expertise where required.
   
   • Act as a resource and point of contact for all aspects of conveyance for the legal team and the organisation.

Skills and Experience:

1. Essential Qualification and Experience:
   
   • A UK recognised legal qualification to undergraduate level.
   
   • Proven experience in residential conveyancing.
   
   • Familiarity with specialist conveyancing software and legal research tools.
2. Essential Skills and Knowledge:
   
   • Strong understanding of property law, particularly leasehold and freehold transactions.
   
   • Knowledge of shared ownership schemes and Islamic finance principles.
   
   • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously.
   
   • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
3. Essential Personal Attributes:

   • Proactive and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
   
   • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
   
   • Demonstrates integrity, discretion, and a commitment to confidentiality.
4. Highly desirable:
   
   • Legal qualification such as LLB, LPC/SQE or other professional qualification of equivalent standing.
   
   • Membership in professional bodies such as CILEx, CLC or SRA.
   
   • Experience of conveyance involving Home Purchase Plans (Islamic mortgages).
   
   • Experience working in a fast-paced legal environment in private practice and/or in-house legal teams.
