We are looking for a Senior Storage Systems Engineer to play a key role in supporting and developing our storage solutions. This role requires expertise in analyzing system logs, troubleshooting customer issues, implementing new features, and maintaining existing functionalities to ensure compatibility with evolving operating systems and utilities. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with storage technologies, virtualization, and software development, with a strong foundation in Linux-based environments.

Key Responsibilities

Software Development & Feature Enhancement

- Design and develop new features to expand system capabilities for handling user data.

- Update and modify existing features to ensure compatibility with new OS versions and utilities.

- Develop implementation proposals and plans before executing changes.

- Modify Storage Concentrator (SC) management facilities and Graphical User Interfaces (GUI) for new feature support.

- Perform unit testing, integration testing, and final deployment with online help documentation.

- Support the ongoing transition from Linux to AlmaLinux.

- Maintain and enhance the virtualization engine, primarily written in C.

- Modify management interfaces written in Perl, Go, and Python as needed.

- Maintain HTML/CGI-based graphical user interfaces.

- Work with different data storage types:

- Block storage, file storage, object storage

- Linux and Windows file systems

- Implement and manage storage operations, including:

- Snapshots, deduplication, storage backups

- NFS and S3 volume features

- Understand and configure storage hardware and protocols:

- High Availability & Scale-Out storage solutions

- Storage protocols: SCSI, iSCSI, CIFS, FC

Customer Support & System Analysis

- Provide direct and indirect customer support by analyzing system logs and recommending solutions.

- Assist the customer support team in navigating and utilizing the features of Storage Concentrator.

- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to storage networks, virtualization engines, and data management.

Required Qualifications:

- 5+ years of experience in storage systems engineering, development, or support.

- Strong programming experience with C, Perl, Go, Python.

- Proficiency in Linux system administration and storage-related utilities.

- Deep understanding of storage protocols, storage networks, and data management techniques.

- Experience with virtualization technologies and infrastructure automation.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in enterprise storage solutions and disaster recovery systems.

- Familiarity with cloud storage architectures (AWS S3, Azure, Google Cloud).

- Hands-on experience with modern storage orchestration and management tools.
