We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team as Assistant Vice President - Data Modeller.

Principal responsibilities

  1. The FDS Data Team is seeking to recruit a Data Modeller passionate about organizing and transforming complex finance data into actionable insights within data model structures that are fit for purpose. The role requires a strong analytical mindset, good understanding of data modelling techniques and tools, with a proven track record. The individual should have experience designing and implementing efficient data models that support sourcing, storage, and usage needs in finance and/or front-to-back domains within a global financial institution.
  2. Support the design and development of FDS conceptual, logical, and application data models according to HSBC's Future State Architecture (Data Asset Strategy), collaborating with finance teams to promote understanding, interpretation, design, and implementation.
  3. Assist finance and change teams in migrating to target state data models and Data Asset delivery, improving current data feeds and resolving data issues.
  4. Develop data modelling schemas aligned with enterprise data models and support finance data assets.
  5. Contribute to FDS program planning and scheduling for model development.
  6. Continuously improve the FDS data modelling estate, ensuring adherence to risk, controls, security, and regulatory standards.
  7. Advise on and support finance data requirements for new use cases and changes.
  8. Serve as a subject matter expert in FDS data modelling, seeking opportunities to simplify, automate, rationalize, and improve efficiency of finance IT and modelling solutions.
  9. Maintain key FDS modelling artefacts, including Confluence, SharePoint, documents, reports, and roadmaps.
  10. Provide technical advice and maintain relationships, offering timely feedback to ensure models meet business needs.
