Position Overview

We're looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to lead day-to-day accounting operations for a fast-paced construction office. This role ensures accurate financial records, timely reporting, and compliance with industry-specific requirements. You'll oversee the accounting team, streamline processes, and partner with project managers to keep jobs profitable and on track.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee daily accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, job cost accounting, and general ledger functions.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing training and performance feedback.
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closings.
  • Oversee job cost tracking, ensuring expenses are correctly allocated to projects.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts for leadership.
  • Coordinate with project managers on project billing, contract compliance, and change orders.
  • Manage lien waivers, subcontractor compliance, and insurance documentation.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax preparers, and banks.
  • Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred but not required).
  • Knowledge about construction accounting software (e.g., Sage 300, Viewpoint, QuickBooks Contractor Edition).
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and construction-specific compliance requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
