The Psychologist, holding a university degree in Psychology and at least two years of experience as a mental health worker (preferably in a humanitarian setting), will support HI's MHPSS program in the field. The Psychologist will report to the Project Manager.

Mission 1: Mental Health Support

The Psychologist will:

  • Work alongside the Emergency Response Team to provide Psychological First Aid to affected populations.
  • Map existing services, including specialized MHPSS services, and establish referral pathways for safe referrals.
  • Assess mental health needs of diverse groups, maintain confidentiality, and provide counseling as needed.
  • Offer psychosocial support to persons with disabilities and psychosocial disabilities, focusing on building basic life skills.
  • Conduct community-based awareness sessions on prevalent mental health issues.
  • Deliver services following a person-centered approach, respecting confidentiality, do no harm principles, and PSEAH standards.
Mission 2: Data & Reporting
  • Compile weekly data on MHPSS activities and share with relevant teams.
  • Maintain updated beneficiary databases in digital and hard copy formats.
  • Report on field activities, trainings, seminars, and learning sessions.
  • Share lessons learned, and prepare case studies and success stories related to mental health support.
Mission 3: Field Management
  • Assist in arranging venues for sessions or trainings.
  • Liaise with implementing partners to avoid duplication.
  • Guide community social mobilization efforts and establish referral pathways.
  • Involve local trainees in training and decision-making processes on psychosocial interventions, with close mentorship.

Languages proficiency levels: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2. Specific language requirements include Urdu, Sindhi, and HI official languages (French or English).

Duration: 3 months only.
