We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Accounts Associate to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will manage all aspects of accounting operations for our restaurant, with a focus on accurate and timely payroll processing. This role requires a meticulous, detail-oriented individual with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

About the Role

Mayatax is looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to oversee daily accounting operations. Reporting to the Accounting & Tax Director, the Manager will ensure the accuracy of financial records, prepare financial reports, and lead a team of accounting professionals. The role demands strong technical accounting skills, excellent management abilities, and fluency in English. The preferred candidate will hold an MBA from a top-tier institute in Pakistan, preferably based in Karachi.

Responsibilities

Financial Accounting and Reporting:

  • Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other accounting functions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate recording of financial transactions following applicable standards (e.g., IFRS).
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement.
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits.
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.

People Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team.
  • Assign tasks, set performance goals, and conduct reviews.
  • Foster a positive work environment.
  • Identify training needs and facilitate professional development.
  • Communicate expectations and provide feedback.
  • Handle employee relations issues.

Financial Analysis and Control:

  • Perform variance analysis and investigate discrepancies.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs.
  • Implement internal controls to protect assets.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting.
  • Provide financial insights to management.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, and banks.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects.
  • Stay updated on accounting standards and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

  • MBA in Finance or Accounting from a top-tier institute in Pakistan, preferably Karachi.
  • Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance with relevant certifications (e.g., ACCA, CA) may be considered.

Experience:

  • 8 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in management.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles (e.g., IFRS).
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
  • Understanding of US tax regulations.

Language Skills:

  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
