The Audit Officer plays a crucial role in supervising and coordinating audit activities within a company. This role involves supporting the comprehensive management of the organization's internal audit processes. For an Audit Officer in a medical billing firm, responsibilities include data auditing, data management, reporting, file assignment, target setting, updating CRMs, and overseeing billing automation.

Responsibilities
  1. Audit:
    • Oversee and manage internal audits to ensure compliance with company standards and policies.
    • Review and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
    • Identify areas of risk and recommend risk mitigation strategies.
    • Collaborate with different departments to implement audit recommendations.
  2. Data Management:
    • Handle data acquisition, validation, storage, protection, and processing to ensure data accessibility, reliability, and relevance.
    • Implement data governance and quality frameworks.
    • Work with IT to ensure secure data storage and backup systems.
  3. Reporting:
    • Generate reports for management on business metrics, performance, and operational updates.
    • Ensure timely and accurate reporting to external stakeholders.
  4. File Assignment:
    • Review and assign files to appropriate teams or individuals.
    • Handle escalations and issues related to file assignments.
    • Support teams as needed.
  5. Target Allotment:
    • Allocate monthly targets based on company objectives and past performance.
    • Monitor progress and provide support for target achievement.
    • Evaluate performance against targets and give feedback.
  6. Power BI Data Sheets Updating:
    • Update Power BI data sheets with recent audit findings and data.
    • Collaborate with IT to ensure data integrity.
  7. Fax-rebilling:
    • Oversee fax-rebilling processes for timely and accurate billing.
    • Address discrepancies and streamline processes with IT and other departments.
  8. Medical Billing (Automation):
    • Manage automation solutions for medical billing to improve efficiency and accuracy.
    • Coordinate with billing and IT teams and stay updated on billing codes and regulations.
Additional Information

The team does not have monthly targets.

Job Skills

Effective time management, task prioritization, basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, attention to detail, and strong analytical skills.
