About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Lead DevOps Engineer with deep Azure expertise to lead infrastructure automation and DevOps practices across our projects. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will guide the design, implementation, and improvement of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and secure Azure deployments. You will also work closely with other engineers, mentoring junior team members and ensuring best practices are followed throughout the DevOps lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of robust CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, integrated with Azure for seamless delivery.
  • Drive the development and management of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, ensuring reusable, secure, and version-controlled modules.
  • Collaborate with and guide solution architects and cloud engineers to provision and monitor infrastructure across multiple Azure environments.
  • Troubleshoot and lead resolution efforts for deployment and infrastructure issues, ensuring reliability and uptime.
  • Implement and lead deployment strategies, automated testing gates, and rollback mechanisms within GitLab CI workflows.
  • Integrate and oversee monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions to ensure production-grade observability.
  • Participate in and often lead architecture reviews and technical discussions, promoting an automation-first and security-first culture.
  • Mentor junior DevOps engineers, share knowledge, and help standardize DevOps practices across teams.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of DevOps or Cloud Engineering experience, with proven leadership in Azure-based environments.
  • Strong experience in leading CI/CD pipeline development using GitLab and managing GitOps workflows.
  • Deep hands-on knowledge of Terraform for provisioning and managing Azure infrastructure. Solid understanding and experience in Azure services including:
  • Azure DevOps, Identity, Data Factory, Synapse, Fabric, Event Hub, Databricks
  • RBAC, Storage Account, Batch Account, App Service, Kubernetes (AKS), Container Registry, Container Apps, Function App
  • Expertise in Azure security best practices: RBAC, Key Vault, Private Endpoints, Managed Identities, DNS integration.
  • Experience working in governed environments, applying policy controls, RBAC, and resource restrictions.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

  • Experience leading implementations involving hybrid connectivity, private DNS, or restricted network models.
  • Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) for automation and orchestration. Knowledge of state management, secrets handling, and environment segmentation in GitLab pipelines.
