Key Responsibilities:

  • Design PCB layouts based on circuit diagrams and electrical specifications.
  • Create detailed schematics, PCB layouts, and assembly drawings.
  • Define layer stack-up and routing strategies for complex multi-layer designs.
  • Work closely with electrical engineers to understand design requirements and ensure that designs meet functionality, performance, and cost targets.
  • Prepare PCB prototypes and coordinate with the manufacturing team for production.
  • Conduct signal integrity and power integrity analysis.
  • Perform electrical rule checks (ERC) and design rule checks (DRC) to identify and resolve any design issues.
  • Select appropriate components based on design specifications, availability, and cost.
  • Create and maintain clear, detailed documentation of the PCB design process, including design notes, specifications, and test results.
  • PCB Fabrication and Assembly Support:
  • Support the fabrication and assembly process by providing design specifications and resolving manufacturing issues.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in PCB design software (e.g., Altium Designer, Eagle, KiCad, OrCAD, etc.).
  • Technical Knowledge:
  • Solid understanding of electrical engineering principles, signal integrity, and power distribution.
  • Knowledge of PCB manufacturing processes and technologies.
  • Familiarity with component selection, footprint creation, and design for manufacturability.
