Overview

Summary:

Business Operations Manager is resposible to oversee end-to-end operational cycles across projects, billing, forecasting, and resource management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee end-to-end billing cycle — from project creation and allocation to invoicing and roll-off.Ensure accurate and timely billing, tracking billable hours, and resolving discrepancies.
  • Monitor billing efficiency and drive initiatives to optimise revenue capture.Collaborate with finance to ensure compliance with accrual cycles and month-end closing requirements.
  • Lead the monthly/quarterly forecasting cycle for revenue, cost, and resource utilisation.
  • Produce regular business performance reports, highlighting variances, trends, and improvement opportunities.
  • Partner with delivery teams to update forecasts based on project status, resource changes, and scope adjustments.
  • Manage the bench pool (non-billable resources), working with delivery leads to minimise idle time.
  • Maintain accurate resource projections and allocation plans across projects.
  • Track and optimise utilisation rates to improve productivity and profitability.
  • Ensure smooth onboarding/offboarding (roll-off) processes for resources in line with project timelines.
  • Drive continuous improvement in forecasting, billing, and resource management processes.
  • Ensure operational controls are in place for accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
  • Leverage data-driven insights to recommend and implement operational best practices
Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Operations, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 9/10+ years of experience in business operations, financial planning, or resource management within a project-based or services organisation.
  • Strong understanding of accrual cycles, billing efficiency metrics, utilisation, and forecasting.
  • Proficient in Excel and familiar with ERP/PSA tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle NetSuite, MS Dynamics, Workday, or similar).
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills to work effectively with finance, delivery, and leadership teams.
