Job Description

The Recovery Staff Nurse is responsible for the efficient management of pre- and post-operative recovery patients and related daily operations.

  1. Receive patients with consent forms.
  2. Verify that consent forms contain correct patient information and are signed by the authorized personnel.
  3. Ensure proper transfer of patients to pre-operative recovery, attach monitors, and manage pre-operative recovery as required.
  4. Assist in post-procedure recovery, including receiving patients from the OR with specimens.
  5. Perform cannulation in the recovery room and administer fluids as needed.
  6. Monitor and verify patients' dietary status and NPO (nothing by mouth) times.
  7. Transport patients to the OR following protocols and ensure proper handover to technicians or senior technicians.
  8. Update patient history and details in the HMIS system.
  9. Transfer patients from recovery to wards, following protocols and ensuring proper handover to ward staff.
  10. Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor or Head of Department.
