Experience Required: 5-10 years

Employment Type: Full-Time

About Bondh E Shams

Bondh E Shams (The Solar Water Project) is an internationally registered non-profit operating across the UK, USA, and Pakistan, dedicated to combating water scarcity through innovative, community-centered, and sustainable technology solutions. We are committed to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with specific focus on SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), and SDG 13 (Climate Action).

Our flagship initiative, The OASIS Box Sustainable Project, delivers decentralized, solar-powered water purification and distribution units to rural and vulnerable communities. The project is formally validated under the Gold Standard for the Global Goals (GS4GG), aiming to reduce GHG emissions and promote access to safe drinking water in line with Pakistan's national and international commitments.

Job Description

We are looking for a dynamic Program Manager to lead the implementation of the OASIS Box Sustainable Project across Nowshera District. The Program Manager will oversee the complete operational life cycle of the project, from field operations to monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV) in accordance with Gold Standard certification requirements.

Demonstrated expertise in MRV systems and impact reporting is essential, as the project's success is fundamentally tied to the accurate, timely, and verifiable documentation of emission reductions, safe water delivery, and SDG contributions.

The role requires strategic thinking, team leadership, operational excellence, and a strong understanding of sustainability metrics and climate finance mechanisms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership: Provide strategic and operational leadership to ensure timely deployment and operationalization of OASIS Box units across target communities.
  • Field Management: Supervise and mentor Field Officers and Data Collectors to ensure high-quality, standardized, and consistent field data collection and beneficiary engagement.
  • Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV):
  • Lead the development, execution, and management of a robust MRV system capturing GHG emissions reductions, safe water supply metrics, and SDG outcomes (SDG 6, SDG 7, SDG 13).
  • Ensure the collection and verification of critical monitoring parameters (e.g., water quality reports, liters distributed, user surveys, WASH campaigns) as per Gold Standard methodology requirements.
  • Prepare MRV documentation for external audits, design reviews, and verification cycles.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze large volumes of field data to generate actionable insights; compile and submit periodic performance reports to internal management, donors, and Gold Standard validation bodies.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinate with local communities, government agencies, NGOs, and internal teams to ensure seamless project delivery and compliance with national regulations.
  • Community Engagement and Capacity Building: Facilitate WASH sessions, grievance redress mechanisms, and maintenance training to ensure sustainable and community-led operation of OASIS Box units.
  • Quality Control: Conduct frequent field visits for performance verification, unit inspections, and grievance handling; monitor adherence to maintenance and operational protocols.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify operational bottlenecks, optimize program delivery processes, and recommend innovations to enhance project outcomes and efficiencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Management, Development Studies, Public Health, Sustainability, Social Sciences, or related fields.
  • 5–10 years of experience in program management, particularly in climate finance, WASH, renewable energy, or sustainability-focused projects.
  • Mandatory: Strong understanding and experience of MRV systems, preferably for carbon credit projects under frameworks like Gold Standard or CDM.
  • Excellent data management and analytical skills, including experience in monitoring field metrics and impact indicators.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing multi-disciplinary field teams and achieving project milestones on schedule and budget.
  • Exceptional communication skills in English and Urdu; Pashto proficiency is advantageous.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively to remote rural areas within Nowshera.
  • Strong commitment to safeguarding principles, gender equality, and community empowerment.

Why Join Bondh E Shams?

  • Play a leading role in a validated Gold Standard project recognized internationally for innovation and measurable impact.
  • Lead a dedicated team of individuals committed to high impact projects.
  • Drive real change at the intersection of clean energy, water security, and climate action.
  • Be part of an agile, mission-driven team passionate about scaling sustainable solutions.
  • Benefit from continuous professional development opportunities in climate project development, MRV systems, and sustainable community engagement.
