The Payroll Associate is responsible for supporting payroll operations by ensuring timely and accurate processing of employee payroll. This role involves maintaining payroll records, verifying timekeeping information, resolving discrepancies, and responding to employee inquiries related to compensation and deductions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly payrolls in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Verify accuracy of timesheets, attendance, and leave records.
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records including new hires, terminations, and changes in compensation or benefits.
  • Ensure proper calculation of wages, overtime, deductions, and taxes.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist in the preparation of payroll reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve any issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and company information.
  • Collaborate with HR and accounting teams to ensure accurate and efficient payroll processes.
  • Assist with year-end tasks including W-2/1099 distribution and tax filings.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or HR preferred.
  • 1–3 years of payroll experience, preferably in a corporate or HR environment.
  • Strong understanding of payroll laws and tax regulations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with multi-state payroll processing.
  • Familiarity with benefits administration.
  • Knowledge of HRIS systems.
