This is a full-time on-site role for an Accountant at our Lahore-based office. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for the preparation of financial statements, trial balance, VAT returns, preparing reconciliations, tax calculations & returns, and other core Accountancy functions. For this position, you should have previous experience (at least 6 months) working in another accounting practice with UK Clients. We primarily work with small businesses across a wide range of industries, and you will be required to be involved in a full spectrum of services such as - Sole Trader & Limited company Bookkeeping, Payroll, VAT Returns, CIS, Companies House (Changes of PSC / Owners / Directors) etc.

We don't like to leave things for later, just because the deadline is still weeks or months away, but instead get to work as soon as reports can be submitted and then use the rest of the time for learning and education. Our practice is built on processes and procedures, and that allows us to be efficient and organized. Job Timing: Morning shift (9am to 6pm)

Qualifications

  • Fully or Part-Qualified (UK) ACCA
  • Minimum 6 months experience with UK Clients
  • Experience Working in UK Accounting practice
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, including VAT, CIS, Payroll, Statutory Accounts, Reconciliations, etc.
  • Good proficiency in using Google Sheets & Google Docs
  • Experience or willingness to use diverse accounting software (We use - QB, Xero, FreeAgent, Pandle)

Key Responsibilities / Your Role

When you join as an Accountant, you will be joining a team of 6-7 colleagues and collectively you will be looking after a dedicated client base. Each team consists of 1x Head Accountant, 2x Senior accountants, 4-5x Accountants & Junior Accountants. Your initial objective will be to learn the internal processes while performing your accounting duties. It is important that you complete your job with care and take full responsibility for your work as that will be a quality that will advance you further. In this role, you will be able to learn everything that is out there about UK businesses, including how to incorporate and close businesses, how to register and deregister businesses for different taxes, and how to submit various Companies House forms. This role is perfect for those who are open to learning a wide spectrum of skills as well as broaden and deepen their knowledge.

Some of the main responsibilities include:

  • Monthly bookkeeping
  • Running Weekly & Monthly Payroll
  • Preparation of VAT returns
  • Preparing Self Assessments
  • Preparing company Statutory accounts
