Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in a relevant IT field.
  2. At least 5 years' experience as an Oracle DBA (10g, 11g, 12c, 19c).
  3. Hands-on experience with Oracle 19c implementations, upgrades, conversions, and consolidation projects on Exadata and Oracle Cloud Platform.
  4. Excellent troubleshooting and performance tuning skills, with knowledge of tuning features like SQL Tuning Advisor, SQL Access Advisor, Automatic Workload Repository, and Automatic Database Diagnostic Monitor.
  5. Strong knowledge of Oracle 19c and technical database concepts such as physical data modeling, tuning large instances, PDB/CDB, resource management, data replication, and backup/recovery techniques.
  6. Minimum three years of working knowledge of Oracle RAC, Oracle Enterprise Manager, Oracle ASM, Oracle RMAN, Oracle Data Guard, and Oracle Database Security.
  7. Good organizational and communication skills to handle multiple priorities.
  8. Experience supporting enterprise, high-profile, mission-critical, and dynamic 24x7 large-scale Oracle environments with high availability and scalable performance requirements.
  9. Proven experience in database and SQL performance tuning.
  10. Knowledge of RMAN backup and recovery strategies, with experience in database backups and restores using RMAN.
  11. Experience supporting both development and production database environments.
  12. Ability to drive product issues to resolution following ITIL processes and provide Level 3 support.
  13. Working knowledge of operating systems such as Windows Server, Unix, Linux, AIX, etc.
  14. Preferred skills include Oracle Certified Expert (RAC/Performance Tuning).
  15. Knowledge of data privacy laws and practices.
  16. Ability to conduct research into database issues, standards, and products.
  17. Effective prioritization and execution skills in high-pressure environments.
  18. Excellent written and oral communication skills, with strong technical documentation skills.
  19. Good interpersonal skills and willingness to work flexible hours, including being on call.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Analyze and execute end-to-end database consolidation, migration, conversion, and upgrade projects.
  2. Lead the upgrade and management of large Oracle databases on Linux and Exadata to Oracle 19c, utilizing features like PDB/CDB, data compression, partitioning, RAC, RMAN, Data Guard.
  3. Translate business and application requirements into database designs and capabilities.
  4. Perform requirements analysis, data architecture design, data security, performance tuning, and backup/recovery planning.
  5. Consult on optimal database environment design, analyze complex deployments, and recommend performance improvements.
  6. Evaluate and implement new product features tailored to database needs.
  7. Use optimization techniques such as projections and partitioning.
  8. Ensure IT compliance and risk management, including security and privacy standards.
  9. Establish database access controls and respond to access and performance issues.
  10. Manage database crash recovery and performance analysis, including SQL query tuning.
  11. Document issues and support application teams in fine-tuning SQL queries.
  12. Participate in change management processes and develop backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies.
  13. Support development teams during various phases of application lifecycle.
  14. Create reports and communicate with external teams to ensure optimal database performance and security.
  15. Implement change control and testing processes for database modifications.
  16. Conduct database transaction and security audits.
