Position Overview
We are seeking a talented Product Designer to join our team at AHOY. This role will involve transforming complex problems into seamless and engaging user experiences. As a Product Designer, you will work closely with product managers, engineers, and other designers to design, iterate, and refine products from concept to execution. You should possess a solid understanding of design principles, be skilled in visual design, and have a passion for creating user-centric products that drive results.

Requirements

  1. Design and iterate on product designs that enhance user experience and fulfill business goals.
  2. Collaborate with product managers and engineers to define product requirements and create design solutions.
  3. Conduct user research to inform design decisions and validate design concepts.
  4. Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups to communicate design ideas effectively.
  5. Utilize user feedback and testing results to refine and enhance product designs.
  6. Maintain design consistency and quality across all product interfaces.
  7. Stay current with industry trends, design best practices, and emerging technologies.
  8. Communicate design concepts and rationale to stakeholders clearly and persuasively.
  9. Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure a cohesive product vision.
  10. Participate in design critiques and provide constructive feedback to peers.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in Product Design, Interaction Design, or a related field.
  2. 3+ years of experience in product design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating your design process and solutions.
  3. Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or equivalent.
  4. Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies.
  5. Experience conducting user research and usability testing.
  6. Excellent visual design skills, with attention to detail and aesthetics.
  7. Ability to articulate design decisions and concepts to non-design stakeholders.
  8. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and collaborative design processes.
  9. Basic understanding of front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.
  10. Passion for creating meaningful user experiences and a desire to tackle complex design challenges.
