MyPastel is an innovative antiques marketplace connecting collectors, sellers, and buyers globally. We're building a platform where stories matter—literally.

The Role

We are seeking a skilled Full Stack Developer to design and implement a Story Feature for MyPastel, enabling sellers to share engaging visual stories (similar to Instagram Stories) that expire after 24 hours. This feature will also allow sellers to save select stories as Highlights on their profiles, showcasing key collections and items.

Your work will directly impact the way sellers and buyers interact, creating a dynamic and interactive marketplace experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a Story Feature:
  • Allow sellers to upload images/videos.
  • Auto-expire stories after 24 hours.
  • Enable sellers to save selected stories as Highlights on their profiles.
  • Build a seamless frontend using React.js and REST API backend with Node.js.
  • Ensure the feature is optimized for performance, scalable, and mobile-friendly.
  • Collaborate with the product team to refine the user experience and deliver a polished final product.

Key Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in full-stack development.
  • Strong proficiency in React.js (frontend) and Node.js (backend).
  • Hands-on experience building interactive features (e.g., Stories, Highlights, media uploads).
  • Knowledge of REST API design, scalability, and performance optimization.
  • Experience with responsive and mobile-first design.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote environment.

Bonus Points

Understanding of media optimization techniques (image/video compression, lazy loading).

Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, GCP) for media storage and CDN integration.
