Role
We are looking for a talented and experienced Senior Backend Developer to join our growing team for the PDF Project. The ideal candidate should have 5+ years of hands-on experience in backend development with a solid foundation in Node.js (Express/Nest JS), database design, cloud services, and backend integrations. This role is critical to maintaining and optimizing our service-oriented and microservice architecture, ensuring high performance, secure systems, and robust API development.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of complex features and systems, ensuring scalability, security, and maintainability.
- Take responsibility for the overall code quality of the projects, ensuring adherence to company engineering practices, such as CI/CD and secure coding.
- Collaborate with architects and stakeholders to ensure the technical direction aligns with business goals.
- Communicate technical solutions effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Acts as a point of contact for technical issues for specific work streams across multiple projects
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and mentees, fostering technical growth and sharing best practices.
- Assist in the development and improvement of team processes and workflows to enhance productivity and code quality.
- Stay updated on new technologies and trends to continuously improve technical skill
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a Backend Developer in production environments.
- Proficient in Node.js (Express or NestJS frameworks).
- Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL including writing optimized queries, schema management, and data normalization.
- Solid understanding of HTTP protocols, RESTful APIs, and web services.
- Experience working with Git for version control and Bitbucket for repository management.
- Familiarity with AWS services (e.g., S3, EC2), cloud infrastructure concepts, and backend deployments.
- Understanding of web security principles and best practices (e.g., OWASP Top 10).
- Experience with server monitoring and logging tools such as Datadog, New Relic, or Prometheus.
- Knowledge of Docker for containerization and Kubernetes for orchestration.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools like GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
- Experience with CMS platforms such as Strapi.
- Ability to write clean, scalable, and maintainable code with adherence to coding standards.
- Collaborative mindset with experience working alongside DevOps, QA, UX/UI, and Product teams.
- Strong documentation habits and ability to explain complex technical solutions clearly.
