Porter

The hospital porters perform a variety of tasks including transporting and mobilizing ambulatory or non-ambulatory patients within the hospital as directed by staff. They are responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitization of departmental facilities and equipment as guided by department staff. Porters also organize patients according to daily doctors' appointments, transport blood samples, sort patient linens, clean mobile trolleys, and collect store supplies.

Porters must ensure their assigned areas operate efficiently. They are assigned to various departments daily and rotated quarterly as planned by their immediate HK supervisor.

Hospital porters are not authorized to perform clinical or non-clinical patient procedures or operate high-tech electronic medical equipment at their assigned locations.

1. Maintain the cleanliness and comfort of the entire assigned location following supervisor directives.
2. Complete clean turnovers and prepare vacant patient units as directed.
3. Perform daily cleaning tasks such as dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and cleaning light fixtures and equipment.
4. Maintain polite and professional behavior with patients and their families.
5. Assist with trash collection in the assigned area.
6. Transport patients for X-rays, lab tests, and between areas as directed.
7. Ensure ward equipment, patient beds, and windows are cleaned and dusted properly.
8. Transport departmental supplies like GS or pharmacy items as directed.
9. Handle soiled laundry for washing.
10. Follow all orders from HK management and supervisors in their assigned areas.
11. Perform any other tasks assigned by HK management or supervisors.
