Job Description

This position supports nursing care delivery across all shifts within the nursing department. LPNs perform less complex nursing tasks compared to RNs. Their duties include monitoring patient health, observing signs of deterioration or improvement, and providing direct patient care in a calm, courteous, and tactful manner.

  • Handover & take over shift-related patient information, including patient files, medication charts, investigation reports, and intake/output charts.
  • Provide direct patient care throughout the shift, ensuring quality and safety standards are met.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Adhere to infection control policies, medication administration protocols, and controlled substance regulations to protect patients and staff.
  • Assist doctors during rounds and procedures, preparing patients and necessary equipment.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of nursing care following SOPs.
  • Follow doctors' orders and report any concerns regarding prescribed treatments.
  • Ensure medical supplies are well-stocked, stored properly, and readily available.
  • Check and record vital signs, blood sugar levels, and perform blood draws and other lab procedures.
  • Perform IV cannulation following the relevant policy manual.
  • Report incidents involving patients, staff, visitors, or untoward occurrences promptly.
  • Supervise Nurse Aids, Student Nurses, and other junior staff.
  • Perform delegated tasks as directed by the Ward in charge or Nursing Coordinator.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by supervisors or department heads.
