Job Overview

Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) is seeking a Hardware + Software Engineer to join our Quality Assurance (QA) team. The ideal candidate will have experience working on Android-based systems, including hardware integration and app-level testing. This is a cross-functional role requiring hands-on skills in Android application testing, device communication protocols, and system-level debugging.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform QA testing on Android-based hardware devices and applications.
  • Test communication between Android devices and external hardware using protocols such as USB, Bluetooth, BLE, Wi-Fi, and Serial (UART).
  • Troubleshoot system integration issues involving mobile apps and peripherals.
  • Validate firmware and app-level updates across a variety of Android hardware configurations.
  • Collaborate with developers and field teams to resolve bugs and deployment issues.
  • Document test results, issues, and improvements in structured formats.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (CS) or Electrical Engineering (EE).
  • At least 2 years of experience working on Android-based systems, QA, or system integration.
  • Hands-on experience with Android app testing, debugging tools (ADB, logcat), and QA workflows.
  • Understanding of Android communication protocols: USB, Bluetooth/BLE, Wi-Fi, Serial, etc.
  • Ability to identify and troubleshoot issues in hardware-app communication.
  • Familiarity with Git and basic command-line tools.
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills (Bonus)
  • Experience with Android development (Java/Kotlin).
  • Exposure to Android device provisioning, MDM tools, or system-level configuration.
  • Familiarity with scripting for automation (Python, Shell, etc.).
  • Experience in field deployment and support of Android-based solutions.
