Main Responsibilities:

  • Transcribing audio/video files into text format.
  • Ensuring the accuracy of the source file is maintained throughout the transcription process.
  • Transcribing English audio files into text based on the required transcript type and understanding all modes of transcription, including:

o Intelligent Verbatim Transcription

o Edited Transcription

o Phonetic Transcription

o Discourse Analysis

  • Participating in training to stay updated with the latest transcription trends and methods.
  • Following client-provided guidelines diligently.
  • Adhering strictly to formatting instructions as specified by the company.
  • Conducting quality control to ensure accuracy of audio transcripts.
  • Completing and submitting files within the allocated time.
  • Having translated at least 20,000 words in a professional context.
  • Ensuring translations preserve original meaning and tone.
  • Proofreading translations to eliminate errors.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • When not transcribing, assisting with recruiting and onboarding translators and vendors.
  • Translating documents between English and Urdu.
  • Performing interpreting tasks as required.
  • Assisting with work on the translation portal and supporting the translation coordinator.

Requirements & Skills:

  • Solid understanding of transcription fundamentals and various types.
  • Knowledge of different transcription services such as strict verbatim, intelligent verbatim, edited, phonetic, and discourse analysis.
  • Good verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Ability to understand British accents, including Scottish and Welsh.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Proficiency with audio/video transcription software like Otter AI.
  • Ability to handle large volumes of work.
  • Typing speed of 80-100 words per minute preferred.
  • Ability to transcribe one hour of audio within two to three hours.
  • Experience translating documents between Urdu and English.
  • Dedication, reliability, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Qualification Required:

Formal education in English Language or Literature.

Work Mode:

Office-based work.

Shift Time:

10 am to 7 pm.

Location:

DHA Sector F, Rawalpindi.
