This role will be responsible to support the implementation of Financial Crime Surveillance Operations strategy by escalating appropriate Financial Crime Compliance and Anti Money Laundering surveillance issues and executing activities in line with guidance documents, Group requirements and regulatory expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Maintain thorough knowledge of bank products across all segments (i.e. retail, commercial, private, correspondent banking and trade) and the ability to execute end-to-end investigations across all segments.
  2. Support relevant stakeholders to make decisions based on current and possible future policies, practices, and trends.
  3. Keep track of and provide advice to relevant stakeholders on the interpretation and application of regulatory expectations, laws, best practices and policies related to Financial Crime Compliance.
  4. Day to day processing of Quality Control reviews on Transaction Monitoring, Trade Based Money Laundering Investigation, Transaction Screening and Name Screening cases in line with procedures and in a timely manner within agreed TAT's whilst maintaining Quality Control/Quality Assurance results in line with Group and local expectations.
  5. Understand technical aspects of systems relevant to List Management, Customer Due Diligence, Client Risk Assessments, Name and Transaction Screening, Anti Money Laundering Monitoring and Case Management.
  6. Inform Line Manager / Senior Management and relevant regulators of serious regulatory breaches (or where risk tolerances have been breached) and ensure that actions are taken quickly to remediate and/or activities are ceased.
  7. Map risks, quantify the potential impact and escalate where necessary.
  8. Provide intelligence (to internal forums) on specific clients, client-types and emerging risk typologies.
  9. Ensure the suitability and quality of case data maintained on enterprise case management systems.
  10. Partner with legal counsels for advice on technical matters.
  11. Propose control improvements, enhancements and simplifications where appropriate.
  12. Support all control checks undertaken by Financial Crime Surveillance Operations under the Operational Risk Framework.
  13. Collate, analyze and interpret data in reports.
  14. Analyze and interpret data to produce reports that help the bank identify and manage emerging areas of risk / vulnerability and support in remediation actions within the Financial Crime Surveillance Operations function.
Skills and Qualification
  1. Minimum Education: Bachelors
  2. Communication (verbal + written)
  3. Maintains Confidentiality
  4. Proficient in MS Office excel + Word (including Transaction Monitoring Case Report Drafting & Data Analytical skills for Transactional Analysis – inflow & outflow)
  5. AML and Customer Due Diligence / Know Your Customer knowledge
  6. Banking Products and Banking Transactions Knowledge
