About the Team

Careem is seeking a Senior Enterprise Identity & Access Management (IAM) Engineer. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our enterprise IAM services (e.g., Okta, SailPoint, Thycotic, CyberArk), onboarding applications, and driving innovation in a dynamic, hyper-growth environment. You will work independently and collaboratively, making technical decisions and promoting best practices across teams.

You will collaborate with Infrastructure, IT, Compliance, and Legal teams to develop secure IAM systems. As a remote-first company, we face unique challenges in IAM, and we focus on reducing friction and enhancing security using modern practices.

What You'll Do
  • Support and maintain a world-class enterprise IAM infrastructure aligned with business goals.
  • Implement, maintain, and modernize IAM systems ensuring adoption, security, and compliance.
  • Address business and user experience challenges through technology solutions.
  • Drive IAM architecture and strategic decisions as the company grows.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior team members to foster growth.
What You'll Need
  • Deep hands-on understanding of authentication protocols (e.g., SSO, OAuth2, SAML, OpenID Connect).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in enterprise IAM systems.
  • Proactive attitude and excellent communication skills.
  • Passion for automation and reducing toil.
  • Experience with IAM vendor products (Okta, SailPoint) and compliance standards (SOx, GDPR).
  • Hands-on experience with cloud IAM systems (AWS Directory, etc.).
  • Ability to shape IAM vision and roadmap.
  • Skills to design secure, seamless access systems for internal users.
  • Proficiency with scripting and automation tools (Python, Git, CI/CD).
  • Experience managing Privileged Access Management (PAM) systems.
  • Experience in hyper-growth e-commerce environments.
