We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Wood Truss Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing roof and floor trusses, ensuring all designs meet structural, code, and customer requirements using specialized software and engineering principles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and engineer roof and floor truss systems using specialized software (e.g., Mitek, Alpine, or similar).
• Analyze loads, structural requirements, and code compliance for each project.
• Interpret architectural and structural plans to create accurate, buildable truss designs.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, sales teams, and customers to clarify design needs and specifications.
• Generate layout drawings, truss placement plans, and detailed fabrication sheets.
• Ensure timely completion of design work to meet production schedules.
• Provide technical support to the production and installation teams when needed.
• Make revisions to designs based on field or client feedback.
• Maintain documentation and records of projects for tracking and quality control.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Strong understanding of structural principles and wood framing techniques.
• Proficiency in truss design software such as Mitek, Alpine, or similar platforms.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Familiarity with applicable building codes (IBC, IRC, NDS, etc.).
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and coordination abilities with internal teams and clients.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.

Education & Experience Requirements:

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in wood truss design or a similar role.
• Experience in the construction or prefab truss manufacturing industry is highly desirable.

Preferred Technical Skills:

• Mitek, Alpine, or similar truss design software.
• AutoCAD or Revit (basic level for layout reference).
• Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
