We are seeking a STEM Innovation & Robotics Specialist—a tech-savvy educator and hands-on creator—who will lead our cutting-edge Robotics Lab. This role involves working with LEGO bots, drones, solar-powered machines, circuit-building, and 3D-printed prototypes. You will inspire students to explore, build, and code their way to the future.
This position offers the opportunity to lead transformative learning experiences, organize robotics challenges, and represent BGS at national and international competitions.
Responsibilities
- Design & Deliver: Create an engaging robotics curriculum for Grades 6–12, covering mechanical design to AI concepts.
- Lead Explorations in: Drone mechanics, solar-powered bots, electronics, microcontrollers, 3D modeling, and mechanical engineering principles.
- Spark Competition Culture: Organize local robotics tournaments and tech expos. Coach students for competitions like FIRST LEGO League, RoboCup, and World Robot Olympiad. Prepare students for real-world challenges and global innovation platforms.
- Mentor & Inspire: Guide student projects, foster collaboration, curiosity, and confidence.
- Manage the Lab: Maintain equipment, ensure safety, and manage inventory.
- Champion Innovation: Stay updated on emerging technologies, suggest new kits/tools, and evolve the lab experience.
- Collaborate Across Disciplines: Work with science, math, and art teachers to create interdisciplinary STEM projects.
Requirements
- A Mechatronics Engineer (Bachelor's required, Master's preferred) with a passion for teaching and innovation.
- A creative thinker who views robots as gateways to imagination.
- Proficient in coding (Scratch, Python, C++), robotics kits, 3D design software, and drone tech.
- Experience organizing or participating in robotics challenges and guiding students in competitions.
- Strong communication, leadership, and classroom management skills. A natural mentor.
- Enthusiastic about empowering students as inventors and innovators.
