Plumber Senior

Responsible for materials, fixtures used in the installation, removal, maintenance, extension, and replacement of plumbing systems, including all piping, fixtures, fixed appliances, and related components. This includes work on sanitary drainage, storm drainage facilities, special wastes, venting systems, and public or private water supply systems.

• Working knowledge of chilled water supply and returns.
• Installs and repairs plumbing across the campus, including piping, valves, faucets, fixtures, and drains.
• May perform functions of a gas fitter, steamfitter, and sprinkler fitter.
• Maintains wastewater treatment systems.
• Proficient in assembling and installing various plumbing materials such as iron, steel, glass, copper, and plastic.
• Responds to emergency and trouble calls throughout the hospital.
• Capable of soldering, silver soldering, and caulking joints.
• Installs and maintains oxygen, vacuum, and air systems.

• Education: Trade/Technical/Vocational Diploma in Plumbing preferred.
• Experience: 2-3 years post-apprenticeship training required.
• Licenses and Certifications: Journeyman Plumber license preferred; Master Plumber license preferred; ASSE 6010 Installer Certification; ASME IX Brazer Certification/Medical Gas Brazer; Wastewater Treatment Operator license (Massachusetts); Personal Driver's License (New Hampshire).
• Skills: Ability to read blueprints, knowledge of Massachusetts plumbing codes, physical strength, ability to work overtime, and ability to lift over seventy pounds occasionally.

This role does not accept experience in lieu of a degree. The position involves physical labor, troubleshooting, and maintenance tasks essential to hospital operations.
