
Health and Safety Manager

Job Description
Your main goal in this role is to ensure Nokia's compliance with the Health and Safety local legal requirements as well as customer specific and internal Nokia requirements. The Health & Safety Manager will have the overall responsibility for Health and Safety KPI's on assigned projects by aligning with CT Head, CDM, project team and H&S MU lead on such activities. You will conduct risk assessments and implement control measures for the project. As a manager, you must take ownership and lead the health and safety for the project and ensure all key standards are implemented in projects. This includes evaluating risks associated with installations, maintenance, and service provision to ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with legal standards. In addition, you will be implementing the program of supervision, monitoring, and audit to ensure that high risk activities are appropriately controlled. You may participate in any third-party audit on H&S where needed.
Responsibilities
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
- Define technical H&S requirements derived from project scope of works and perform H&S risk profiling and communicate needs to Procurement for supplier selection.
- Ensure suppliers are qualified on Health & Safety and facilitate the assessment in line with procurement and safety organization like Gate 1, Gate 2 and SMA.
- Prepare project specific Health & Safety plan and submit for customer approval.
- Ensure H&S file and records are compiled for each project and that the file is always available and updated.
- Manage H&S project resources & resource requirements.
- Prepare monthly health & safety report and circulate to project team and conduct project review meetings.
- Conduct H&S Performance review by implementing regular information sessions to share lessons learned and best practices.
- Provide feedback to Procurement on supplier performance.
- Facilitate Senior Leaders Tour and conduct H&S site visits in all regions of responsibility.
- Ensure all accident/incident/near miss reported on time and conduct accident investigations.
- Conduct regular H&S meetings with various project teams in assigned account and meeting minutes are kept for all.
- Update training matrix and arrange training or re-training as needed in conjunction with relevant Line managers and procurement (Working At Height, Lifting and Rigging, Electrical Safety, Occupational Driving, Cables in the ground, First Aid, RF & EMF Safety).
- Take overall responsibility for H&S KPI on assigned account by aligning with CT Head, CDM and project team on H&S activities.
- Help ensure the projects are delivered according to the relevant Management System (ISO 45001, ISO14001 etc.).
- Provides support for MU Health and Safety message towards customer via CTs on request (RFQ, product launch, audit support, etc.).
You must have:
- University degree in safety management.
- Excellent English communication and presentation skills.
- 5+ years of relevant H&S implementation experience in a Telecommunications environment.
- Thorough understanding of local legislative requirements in H&S.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Understanding of working in industry segments: Telecommunications Network Roll out projects.
