About the role:

As Senior Manager Tax you are required to manage the overall tax operations and compliances at both direct and indirect taxes. To manage overall processes of notices managements, assessments, stay orders, filing of appeals, references, tax positions, tax advisory on day-to-day operations and projects, reporting to management, system enhancements and process improvements. Stakeholder management at both company and group level on important tax issues.

Your Impactful Goals will include:

  • Deliver a full range of tax services in compliance with federal and provincial tax laws and regulations.
  • Develop strong relationships with tax authorities with capability to interact professionally.
  • Advising tax optimization opportunities with efficient and proactive engagement plans.
  • Close coordination with tax advisors/legal counsel in tax matters with optimum utilization.
  • Timely update of Risk list, tax case books and transfer pricing documentation
  • Align reporting and documentation requirements from tax authorities to system capabilities
  • Ensuring timely and accurate reporting to local management & group accounting/tax.

Your Typical Day of work looks like:

  • Provide innovative tax planning with an ability to review the tax impacts of business transactions under various scenarios
  • Improve processes and leverage technology to support Touch Free Operations.
  • Tax advisory on day to day matters, projects and restructuring
  • Tax Accounting, reporting and deferred tax calculation
  • Preparing high quality tax analysis by reviewing transactions flow of different business segments.
  • Managing tax assessments, compliances, appeals, stays, hearings to ensure secure submissions.
  • Develop good communication interface with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Align reporting and documentation requirements from tax authorities to system capabilities

What we are looking for:

Education:CA / CMA / ACCA / MBA (Finance) / Law

Work experience:

  • Minimum 8 years' relevant experience preferably telecom sector.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of federal and provincial tax laws.
  • Good knowledge of business processes.
  • Good knowledge of IFRS and accounting tools.
  • System savvy and business processes improvements know how.

  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills in conjunction with the ability to prioritize and handle complex tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent knowledge of federal and provincial tax laws and rules.
  • Good command on office tools i.e. PowerPoint, spreadsheets.
