About the Role

We have an opportunity for a Senior Developer to join our team in Islamabad Phase 4 (Bahria Town). Our Software Engineers are responsible for designing and developing software to enhance the QisstPay platform delivering value to Customers, Merchants, and internal QisstPay users. We operate in a fast-paced and constantly changing industry, and the development and maintenance of effective software is key to the ongoing success and future growth of the business. This is a perfect role for Engineers who thrive in a fast-paced environment where they are working with current technology and where their work matters and is appreciated.

What you'll be doing

1. Bringing a "Get Stuff Done" attitude, being challenged and solving problems.
2. Building new systems, microservices, and web development using languages like Javascript, Laravel, and more.
3. Using open-source technologies and working on global scale architectures.
4. Practicing software engineering techniques, the craft of programming, and helping establish a strong engineering culture.
5. Writing and deploying Infrastructure on AWS.
6. Fostering the use of agile techniques of Software Delivery.
7. Working in cross-functional Product teams responsible for the discovery, delivery, and validation of product features via microservices, APIs, web-apps.
8. Working with the software engineering team following our development principles, guided by the Team Lead, Staff Engineers, and Architects.
9. Mentoring junior programmers and being involved in their career growth.
10. Peer reviewing design decisions, code, automated tests, and documentation.
11. Participating in the ongoing design and architectures of our evolving core platforms and services.
12. Collaborating with product managers, experience designers & business stakeholders to build efficient and reliable feature implementations that will delight our customers.
13. Ensuring that story guesstimates and code reviews are completed in a timely manner.

About You

1. A naturally curious and self-driven individual who can collaborate with other engineers.
2. 4+ Years experience with PHP or Laravel.
3. You have a product mindset and are familiar with Lean / MVP product practices and energized by the prospect of delivering value to customers.
4. You have the skills and experience to influence change in alignment with technology and product vision to drive outcomes.
5. Demonstrate start-up focus/mentality; be responsible for whole features.
6. Have a strong track record of software engineering, preferably using Laravel.
7. A backend developer comfortable working in an AWS environment.
8. A good working knowledge of backend technologies including microservices and databases.
9. Understanding of integration technologies: RESTful APIs, gRPC, JSON/XML Structured Logging, and Distributed Tracing.
10. Enjoy working with highly scalable architectures and are familiar with techniques such as elastic scaling, distributed computing, event-driven reactive systems, etc.
11. Experience with version control, preferably Git.
12. Experienced working within an agile and outcome-focused environment.
13. Capable of using your experience and strong verbal and written communication skills to continuously improve ways of working and our SDLC.
14. Having exposure to Continuous Delivery will be highly regarded.
15. Use of Serverless technologies will be a bonus.
16. Willingness to collaborate, learn and apply new methodologies and techniques, as required.
17. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or relevant field.
