Head Of Fabrication

One of our clients, a market leader in the heavy vehicles business (manufactures bodies of Trucks and Buses), invites applications for the position of Head of Fabrication for its Karachi (Pakistan) office.

The incumbent must have 15 to 20 years of experience in the heavy equipment industry (preferable candidate from Japan, China, and Korea based industry).

1. Product designing activities as per Marketing department / Customer requirement.
2. Preparation of specification and Bill of Material for costing purposes regarding product design.
3. Fabrication of prototype for any contract/tender approved by the Marketing department.
4. Product design keeping in mind cost-saving implementations.
5. Selection of parts to be localized or vendorized with coordination of PR&D (Product Research & Development).
6. Preparing dies, jigs, and fixtures for in-house parts production.
7. Plan, organize, and control the manufacturing process activities.
8. Providing service to satisfy customer wants in terms of cost and timing.
9. Obtaining maximum effect from resources while minimizing loss, under-utilization, or waste.
10. Selection of machines, tools, and materials for approved products.
11. Provide necessary guidelines during development regarding design changes or other improvements to the Purchase and PR&D department.
12. Keeping close coordination with Quality Assurance to ensure that the quality of parts is maintained.
13. Maintain machines and other facilities in optimal condition to permit uninterrupted use with the coordination of the Plant Engineering department.
14. Studying and preparing/identifying parts for new models and their duty structure as per government rules.
15. Flotation of parts & drawings for quotation & development, price negotiation, and subsequent ordering.
