Position Summary

The Research Associate will assist the Senior Policy Expert in conducting policy research and analysis on various thematic areas and sectors of EE&C in Pakistan. The role involves facilitating interdepartmental knowledge sharing and producing evidence-based information aligned with operational areas. The associate will identify EE barriers through regional research and share responsibilities related to strategies, operational management, and other departmental functions. The position requires an energetic, motivated, and creative individual with a Bachelor's degree or currently pursuing postgraduate studies in a relevant field.

Responsibilities
  1. Source primary baseline consumption data for key sectors of the economy.
  2. Review, update, and strategize follow-up on national energy efficiency policies in coordination with stakeholders.
  3. Develop policy advocacy materials such as white papers and project impact evaluations to support EE policy acceptance and integration.
  4. Support establishing energy efficiency standards, programs, and labeling regimes to promote energy conservation.
  5. Identify barriers to EE promotion and initiate policy interventions to address them.
  6. Collaborate with project teams to develop EE&C policies.
  7. Assist in establishing provincial/regional designated agencies.
  8. Support efforts to set up Energy Conservation Tribunals by researching frameworks in regional countries.
  9. Create linkages with multinational donors for technical assistance and to promote energy efficiency initiatives.
Education

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field from a recognized university.

Location

This position is based in Islamabad.

Experience

At least 3-4 years of professional experience, with a minimum of 2 years in the energy sector.

Duration

7 months.
