Job Title: Senior Accounting Manager

Leadership Role in Financial Services

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Accounting Manager to lead our back-office operations. This leadership role involves managing a team of accountants and bookkeepers to ensure high-quality service in financial reporting, compliance, tax preparation, and advisory support.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of accountants and bookkeepers to deliver high-quality financial reporting and advisory services.
  • Develop and implement processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting professionals to promote growth and development.
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure compliance with firm policies and standards (ASPE, IFRS, etc.).
  • Collaborate with partners to optimize workflows and improve efficiency.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, automation, and technology tools.
  • Provide expert advice on complex client matters, including tax planning and compliance.
  • Ensure timely completion of tasks and compliance obligations.
  • Foster a culture of excellence and accountability through onboarding and training of new team members.
Qualifications
  • CPA designation in good standing (CPA Canada).
  • 7-10 years of experience in public accounting, including at least 3 years in leadership or management.
  • Proven expertise in Canadian tax, financial reporting, and advisory services.
  • Able to lead, manage, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian GAAP, ASPE, IFRS, and CRA compliance.
  • Proficient in accounting and tax software (e.g., CaseWare, TaxCycle, QuickBooks, Xero).
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Experience managing remote or hybrid teams is an asset.
