
Computational Biologist

The MGH Center for Cancer Research seeks a highly skilled computational biologist to study genomics and epigenomics of breast cancer, focusing on intra-tumoral heterogeneity, triple-negative breast cancer, and genetic/epigenetic factors influencing outcomes and therapy response.
This role involves exploring molecular differences in tumor biology across different ancestries, contributing to understanding disparities in outcomes. The successful candidate will be part of an interdisciplinary team analyzing next-generation sequencing data (DNA, RNA, chromatin, single-cell) from tumor and normal samples.
Key Responsibilities- Strong computational background, proactive problem solver, team-oriented.
- Master's Degree in Computational Biology preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Computational Biology required
- Experience can substitute for degree
- 0-1 year in computational sciences preferred
- Experience with infrastructure, programming languages, and computational sciences
- Proficiency with open-source bioinformatics software
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, data modeling, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
- Organizational and interpersonal skills
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written
- Excellent time management
