Principal Backend Developer

The role of a Senior Software Engineer involves writing server-side web application logic.
- Analyze business requirements and estimate assigned tasks.
- Collaborate with other team members to develop back-end components, connect the application with third-party web services, and integrate front-end work.
Responsibilities:
- Write code and unit tests.
- Tune code for enhanced security and performance.
- Maintain systems by fixing existing issues.
- Update issue tracking software.
- Provide status updates.
- Communicate with clients.
- Control versions of your code.
- Research new technologies.
- Lead a team of software engineers.
- Mentor team members through training and guidance.
- Evaluate candidates for open positions.
Requirements:
- Minimum Bachelors in Computer Science/Software Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum four (4) years of related experience in a professional industry.
- Strong knowledge of core PHP, MVC frameworks, and Yii.
- Strong knowledge of WordPress.
- Should know JQuery, JavaScript, AJAX.
- Knowledge and experience in writing backend components and Restful APIs.
- Understanding of security standards and compliance.
- Experience with different relational and schemaless databases such as MySQL.
- Creating a database structure for required functionality.
- Experience with writing unit tests and ensuring minimum 90% test coverage.
- Knowledge of and experience with GitHub, JIRA, and other collaboration tools.
