The role of the Field Operator entails performing hands-on tasks utilizing specialized equipment, machinery, and systems. The candidate will apply techniques and practices to complete assignments according to technical manuals, procedures, and work instructions.

This is a generic job description covering all levels of the Field Operator position. All aspects of the roles and responsibilities are relevant, with more senior roles potentially including leadership responsibilities at the rig site for other Field Operators.

Responsibilities
  • Perform duties in accordance with documented policies and comply with all Standard Operating Procedures and Workplace Practices.
  • Participate in daily operations and safety meetings, toolbox talks, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), and report any issues promptly using appropriate tools.
  • Maintain equipment, facilities, and work areas in a presentable and safe working condition.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of all policies and procedures, related operational and non-operational documentation, support systems, and comply with Technical Work Instructions, carrying out work assignments to the highest quality level and within time constraints as required.
  • Perform functional tests, inspections, and monitoring of equipment with strict adherence to specific work instructions against their level of training and competence.
Qualifications
  • At least 1 year of experience in cased hole and open hole drilling operations.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent qualification.
Key Skills
  • Proven experience handling pressure control equipment.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and monitoring of equipment.
  • Critical thinking, active listening, complex problem-solving.
  • Good reading and writing skills, strong judgment, and decision-making abilities aligned with policies and procedures.
  • Time management.
  • Quality Control Analysis to ensure products meet required standards.
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the role.
  • Information ordering, task prioritization, and problem anticipation.
  • Ability to react efficiently in operating tools and machinery.
