As a Junior Shipboard Electrical Designer, you will be responsible for applying technical knowledge and practical concepts to design, develop, and integrate various hardware, software, and integrated product solutions.

You will provide guidance, technical direction, analysis, and support to ensure the successful implementation of technical systems and components.

The role involves interfacing with vendor support service groups to maintain knowledge and resolve technical problems.

The Opportunity:

  • You will perform detailed surveys of vessels under the guidance of a Senior Team Lead.
  • You will coordinate and interface with other disciplines, designers, and engineers to develop complete drawing packages as related to habitability installation, design, and modification.
  • You will prepare clear, accurate, and complete drawings using Autodesk applications, including AutoCAD.
  • You will develop detailed design elements using information from various sources, such as ship checks, vendor drawings, catalog data, engineering sketches, reference drawings, and input from other disciplines.

Qualifications

  • An active DOD Secret Clearance is required.
  • 2 years of experience in design and drafting for repairs or alterations on U.S. Navy ships or related commercial shipbuilding design, operations, and maintenance working in any of the following:
    • Electrical/Electronic Habitability related discipline.
    • Knowledge of mathematics and physics.
    • Habitability related experience preferred.

Compensation Range

The proposed salary range for this position is $43,900-$87,800, depending on factors such as geographic location, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
