A Senior Java Developer at our organization is a professional who primarily focuses on designing and developing server applications for various software platforms. This includes creating robust, scalable, and secure Restful APIs that can be consumed by client applications.

The primary responsibilities of this role include ensuring that the functionality, security, and performance of the server application align with the design and are completely bug-free. The senior developer will also lead a team of engineers and provide guidance to team members through continuous training and mentorship.

The key duties and responsibilities of this position include:

  • Developing, testing, debugging, documenting, and maintaining the back-end services, models, processes, and databases that support the application.
  • Participating in development team activities to ensure consistently high levels of quality and productivity.
  • Maintaining deep and rapidly growing experience with cloud architectures, including security, availability, microservices, consumption-based billing, and designs for scalability.
  • Staying up-to-date on new technologies and development techniques to improve application quality and construction efficiency.
  • Embracing agile principles and supporting iterative processes to maximize the delivery of valuable software.
  • Providing technical expertise and advice for complex assignments and/or projects. Working with staff, contractors, and vendors to meet business needs.
  • Performing complex design and/or analyses to meet a variety of business needs through technology.
  • Providing project leadership; may manage small to medium projects.
  • Presenting recommendations to management and providing guidance in selecting alternatives.
  • Serving as a resource to others regarding highly technical areas and providing expertise to department management and others outside the department/function.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 8+ years of professional experience in Java/Spring development, specifically developing commercial Spring MVC/Hibernate and AJAX web applications.
  • Experience in system integration, particularly in designing, building, and consuming REST services.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL as a DB Engine, deployed on AWS, and relational DB skills for PostgreSQL & Terraform.
  • Experience with React Js is a plus.
  • Comfortable working closely with business stakeholders, user experience designers, and quality assurance.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving requirements and specifications.
  • Possess excellent and concise written & oral communication skills.
  • Believe in the value of test automation.
