Job Title: Representative in Pakistan

The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) is seeking a highly qualified and experienced professional to serve as its Representative in Pakistan. The Representative will lead the organization's efforts in the country, working closely with government, civil society, and other stakeholders to achieve food security and sustainable agriculture development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent FAO towards national authorities, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Advocate FAO's policy positions in relevant national fora, represent FAO in national media, and implement proactive communications strategy to raise awareness of FAO with the general public.
  • Support UN joint communication efforts and speak 'one voice' in delivering the 2030 Agenda.
  • Develop and operationalize the Country Programming Framework derived from UNSDCF.
  • Build partnerships and mobilize resources to support operationalization of the CPF and UNSDCF.
  • Ensure effective management of programmes, personnel, and financial resources in line with corporate policies and procedures.

Requirements:

Candidates should have an advanced university degree in an area related to FAO activities, e.g., agriculture, forestry, fishery, or rural development. They should also have at least 12 years of relevant experience in planning, formulation, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of field programmes, and a working knowledge of English and intermediate knowledge of another FAO official language. A strong understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals and excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
