Data Engineering Leadership Role

As a Lead Data Engineer, you will play a crucial part in an agile team focused on developing trusted and market-leading technology products. Your expertise and problem-solving skills will drive significant business impact as you tackle diverse challenges across multiple technologies and applications.

This is a leadership role that requires technical guidance and support to the business, technical teams, contractors, and vendors. You will be responsible for developing, reviewing, and debugging secure, high-quality production code. Additionally, you will influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations.

You will serve as a subject matter expert in specific technical areas and contribute to the engineering community by promoting firmwide frameworks, tools, and SDLC practices. This includes encouraging the adoption of leading-edge technologies among peers and decision-makers.

In this role, you will also promote a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect within the team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the business, technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
  • Develop, review, and debug secure, high-quality production code.
  • Influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in specific technical areas.
  • Contribute to the engineering community by promoting firmwide frameworks, tools, and SDLC practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Formal training or certification in Data Engineering with 5+ years of practical experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Big Data, large volume data transfer analysis.
  • Proficiency with Spark, Iceberg, Parquet.
  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS and container technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker.
  • In-depth knowledge of software applications and technical processes in at least one technical discipline (e.g., cloud, AI, ML).
  • Ability to independently solve design and functionality problems with minimal oversight.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
  • Practical experience with cloud-native development.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields.
