We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Academic Faculty Member to teach Applied Nutrition at our institution.

Job Summary:

This is a temporary, 4-month position that will report directly to the Academic Lead of our School of Nursing and Midwifery.

Main Responsibilities:
  • The selected candidate will be expected to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and establish trust with colleagues and staff.
  • Demonstrating exceptional verbal and written communication skills is essential for effective teaching.
  • The faculty member will utilize virtual learning environments (VLEs) and online resources to support the Applied Nutrition course.
  • Effective listening and addressing student concerns related to the course are crucial.
  • The successful candidate will create a course grid according to the Higher Education Commission's (HEC) curriculum, including credit hours and learning outcomes.
  • They will also liaise with the semester course coordinator and faculty in the year team.
  • Constructing exam papers, reviewing them with the Departmental Examination Director (DED), and maintaining confidentiality are key responsibilities.
  • The faculty member will participate in invigilation activities and undertake other tasks assigned by the year head or departmental head.
Teaching Requirements:
  • The ideal candidate should have an MSc in Nutrition.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience teaching in a university is required.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems and online resources to support the Applied Nutrition course is necessary.
  • Exceptional English language proficiency in both verbal and written communication is mandatory.
  • The faculty member should be proficient in MS Office and have received training in teaching and learning.
