Principal Engineer

  1. Platforms Architect: Architecting and designing platforms with workloads distributed across a multi-cloud topology to engage fans worldwide.
  2. Storage Solutions: Building and managing scalable and reliable storage solutions.
  3. Data Processing: Handling real-time data pipelines with high throughput and low latency.
  4. Workflow Orchestration: Coordinating complex workflows with efficiency and reliability.
  5. Messaging: Ensuring secure and efficient communication between applications.
  6. Big Data Analysis: Analyzing massive datasets with speed and accuracy.
  7. Centralized Repository: Providing a centralized repository for historical data.
  8. Interactive Analytics: Enabling fast and interactive analytics for insights on the fly.
  9. AI & ML Platform: Building and maintaining a robust AI & ML platform supporting impactful models.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Principal Engineer to shape the future of our application, cloud, and data platforms. As a technical leader, you will drive innovation, lead initiatives, and mentor junior engineers. You will contribute to building scalable solutions empowering the entire company to make informed decisions and operate more effectively.

Responsibilities

  1. Design and drive the technical roadmap for platform evolution, ensuring scalability, reliability, and business needs alignment.
  2. Lead large initiatives collaborating with cross-functional teams including engineering, data science, and product management.
  3. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers fostering their growth and development within the team.
  4. Build data platforms promoting standardization, including pipeline development, platform tooling, data lake formatting, and data democratization.
  5. Build and maintain AI/ML infrastructure focusing on standardized MLOps practices accelerating AI/ML adoption and deployment.
  6. Champion data and AI governance best practices establishing and enforcing processing principles, design patterns, and practices.
  7. Build strong partnerships influencing teams to adopt best practices and collaborate effectively.

Qualifications

  1. 13+ years of experience leading modern cloud-based applications integration into a common data platform to enable business intelligence and optimization.
  2. Deep technical understanding of distributed systems architecture integrating operational systems with analytical systems for anomaly detection, business process mining, and optimization at scale.
  3. Strong expertise in big data tools like Kafka, Spark, Iceberg, Airflow, AWS S3, data modeling, warehouses, OLAP databases, etc.
  4. Proven experience in data processing, orchestration, data engineering, quality management, and governance.
  5. Excellent communication skills providing clear and concise technical guidance.
  6. Experience with AI/ML platforms and working knowledge of how data scientists leverage data for AI is a plus.
