Product Backend Engineer Job

We are seeking an experienced and skilled product backend engineer to join our team at hr-pod-careers.

  • Our ideal candidate has 3-5 years of experience building robust and performant backend systems using modern technology. They should be familiar with Python, FastAPI, Cloud Load Balancing, Redis, asyncio, OAuth2.0, Pub/Sub (Protobuf), and Google Firestore (NoSQL).
  • The candidate has worked with LLM libraries like Langgraph and Pinecone.
  • They must have a deep understanding of backend development best practices, including system design, performance optimization, async frameworks, and scalable architecture.
  • They will take initiative and get things done.
  • They should quickly evaluate trade-offs and make sound technical decisions in a fast-paced, changing, and often unclear environment.
  • They possess strong communication and collaboration skills.
Responsibilities
  • Talk to customers to understand their pain points and requests.
  • Design and plan potential solutions.
  • Write the backend for a new feature.
  • Work with and improve our LLM orchestration.
  • Set up the infrastructure to implement new features.
  • Implement data observability (e.g., Amplitude) / error tracking (e.g., Sentry).
  • Test your feature, which oftentimes involves manual e2e tests and writing automated integration tests.
  • Fight fires - know when to deploy a fast hack and when to solve a bug for good.
  • Get customer feedback and iterate.
