The role of the Steam Head/Head - IFRS Reporting involves overseeing the technical accounting assessments for VEON Group transactions. This includes preparing high-quality supporting position papers and presenting to key stakeholders, such as the Group Chief Financial Officer and Audit and Risk Committee.

A successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and be able to apply this expertise to prepare and review group statutory annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and any local GAAP requirements applicable to the entity's jurisdiction.

This is a strategic business partner role that requires strong project management and relationship building skills. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask various priorities, and work under pressure with strict deadlines.

Key responsibilities include reviewing and executing quarterly financial reporting controls and procedures, providing IFRS accounting advice on complex accounting areas, and reviewing and coordinating treasury accounting related matters.

In addition, the Steam Head/Head - IFRS Reporting will support Operating Companies in application and compliance with IFRS on non-routine transactions, ensuring proper IFRS accounting treatment.

A strong understanding of changes in IFRS accounting pronouncements and assessing the impact on the VEON Group is also essential. The ideal candidate will have experience in researching and concluding on technical and complex accounting matters and transactions.

The role requires strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. A proactive and self-starter approach is necessary, along with strong presentation and communication skills in English.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Extensive IFRS technical accounting expertise
  • Accounting certification required (ACCA, CPA, RA)
  • Minimum 6 years of previous work experience in similar role or within a Big 4 firm
  • Experience in researching and concluding on technical and complex accounting matters and transactions
  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
