We're seeking a skilled Customs Specialist to join our team. As an Indirect Tax Specialist, you'll play a critical role in helping clients navigate the complexities of customs law and regulations.

About the Position

This role involves working closely with clients to provide tailored advice on VAT treatment of new and complex transactions. Your expertise will be invaluable in identifying risk areas and developing sustainable planning opportunities for indirect taxes.

  • You'll work collaboratively with a team of VAT professionals to share knowledge and best practices.
  • Communicate effectively with senior team members and clients to ensure successful outcomes.
Duties and Responsibilities

Client Responsibilities:

Prepare and deliver high-quality reports and schedules to clients and other parties, meeting deadlines and ensuring accuracy.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with client personnel, including building trust and rapport.

Technical Responsibilities:

Become familiar with regional Free Trade Agreements and customs laws to provide expert advice.

Work collaboratively with colleagues in overseas offices to deliver VAT advice globally.

Prepare for the introduction of VAT in various countries and advise clients on the potential impact.

Essential Requirements

To succeed in this role, you'll need exceptional problem-solving skills, commercial awareness, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.

  • A degree in economics, finance, tax or accounting is essential.
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience as an Indirect Tax professional is required.
  • Experience working in multicultural teams and managing multiple tasks is highly valued.
