We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Medical Officer to join our team as an Anaesthesiology Specialist.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Performing preoperative anaesthesia assessments of patients to ensure their safety during surgical procedures;
  • Providing perioperative anaesthesia care to patients undergoing surgery, using advanced techniques and equipment to ensure optimal patient outcomes;
  • Offering anaesthesia care to patients undergoing procedures outside the operating room, such as in radiology or radiotherapy suites;
  • Assisting with related procedures under the supervision of a consultant anaesthetist;
  • Ensuring compliance with hospital quality and patient safety policies in the provision of patient care;
  • PARTicipating in departmental quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and services.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants should possess:

  • A MBBS degree from a reputable institution, preferably accompanied by additional qualifications or diplomas in a relevant field;
  • No less than seven years of post-MBBS experience in a related field;
  • The ability to communicate effectively and maintain open lines of communication with colleagues, patients, and families;
  • Strong decision-making skills, enabling them to weigh multiple factors and develop solutions that address root causes and prevent recurrence;
  • The capacity to act quickly and decisively in crisis situations, drawing on appropriate resources;
  • Excellent counselling skills to support patients and their families;
  • A thorough understanding of employment reference checks and their importance.
