Our goal is to conduct a thorough examination of the Lady Health Workers' curriculum in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, focusing on its coverage and alignment with real-world challenges faced by these workers.
The primary objective of this assignment is to assess the curriculum's effectiveness in incorporating climate resilience, nutrition integration, and gender inclusivity into its WASH-related content.
Considering the critical role that lady health workers play in delivering community-based healthcare interventions in rural areas of Pakistan, it is essential to evaluate how well their training and curriculum address public health challenges, including water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), nutrition, climate resilience, and gender equity.
This study will involve reviewing the curriculum from a user-centered perspective to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement in climate resilience, nutrition, and gender-inclusive WASH practices.
We aim to gather insights from lady health workers regarding the practical relevance and application of their training, specifically in relation to WASH, nutrition, climate resilience, and gender-sensitive approaches.
Our objectives include identifying gaps in the curriculum content with respect to WASH, climate resilience, and gender sensitivity, as well as recommending improvements that ensure the integration of these areas aligned with the on-the-ground challenges and needs of lady health workers.
To achieve this, we will conduct desk reviews, field visits, and meetings with key stakeholders to gather feedback on the effectiveness of the current curriculum and the need for integration of the specified areas.
Furthermore, we plan to analyze the LHW curriculum and related training materials from KP with respect to the inclusion of WASH, nutrition, climate resilience, and gender inclusivity.
Additionally, we will engage with LHW trainers, supervisors, health department officials, and other relevant health workers to understand their perspectives on the integration of these topics and the practical needs for curriculum improvements.
Using a user-centered research methodology, we will design and conduct a comprehensive review of the LHW curriculum to gather insights from lady health workers regarding the practical relevance and application of their training, specifically in relation to WASH, nutrition, climate resilience, and gender-sensitive approaches.
Our final report will include a gap analysis, stakeholder feedback, and actionable recommendations for improving the curriculum in KP Health Departments.
