Job Role:
A Conservationist is needed to oversee the environmental management of construction projects. This involves developing, implementing and monitoring plans to minimize the project's impact on the environment.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement Environmental Management Plans (EMPs) to ensure compliance with local laws and international standards.
- Conduct thorough Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and Initial Environmental Examinations (IEE) to identify potential risks.
- Monitor air quality, water quality, waste management, and noise levels at project sites.
- Develop and enforce sustainable practices to reduce waste, pollution, and carbon footprint.
- Provide training and awareness sessions to site staff and contractors on environmental best practices.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, government bodies, and consultants to ensure environmental approvals and compliance.
- Perform regular site inspections and audits to ensure adherence to environmental regulations.
- Recommend corrective actions for non-compliance issues and track implementation progress.
- Support the Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) team in integrated site management.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Conservationist/Environmental Specialist in the construction or engineering sector.
- Proven experience in conducting EIA/IEE studies, EMP implementation, and compliance monitoring.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations in Pakistan and international best practices.
- Hands-on experience in environmental audits, inspections, and sustainability initiatives.
- Familiarity with ISO 14001 Environmental Management System implementation.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary project teams (engineering, HSE, QA/QC, etc.).
- Excellent reporting, documentation, and stakeholder coordination skills.
