Job Overview

The Electrical Systems Specialist will be responsible for designing, installing, and commissioning electrical systems including Low Voltage Switchgear & MCC's, Medium Voltage Switchgear & MCC's, AC & DC UPS systems, Transformer Systems, Power Management Systems, VFD & Soft starters.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Review the project requirements and ensure that the project scope is executed in line with customer needs and commitments.
  • Lead project design & execution activities and assign tasks to team members.
  • Estimate engineering effort for the project, develop a detailed project budget, and track expenses.
  • Review assigned engineering documentation according to the project plan.
  • Ensure the project is completed within budget and allocated hours.
  • Coordinate reviews with inter-disciplinary teams.
  • Foster adherence to the QA/QC plan internally and by contractors.
  • Enhance project value addition to meet cost improvement targets.
  • Validate supplier technical offers and confirm compliance with project specifications.
  • Draft SOWs for contractors and ensure scope of work confirmation before awarding contracts.
  • Collaborate with the project planning team to develop detailed schedules and progress trackers for different project phases (engineering, construction, testing & commissioning).
  • Coordinate with suppliers for engineering and project deliverables.
  • Work with the site execution team to ensure safe and timely project activity execution.
  • Support the pre-sales team with bidding and solution development.
  • Support the pre-sales team with bid BOM/MTO development, engineering estimation, vendor quotations/offers review, required clarifications, and close technical evaluation with customers and vendors.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering or a related field.
  • 3-8 years of experience in engineering design & commissioning with at least 2 years in a lead role and 2 years on-site experience in electrical system installation & commissioning.
  • Self-motivated, able to find solutions to challenging problems, think outside the box, proactive, and interact directly with customers at different levels.

Addtional Skills:

  • Maintenance knowledge for above systems is an advantage.
  • Low and medium voltage switchgear construction knowledge is an added advantage.
  • Basic understanding of HVAC system design.
